been working on new jewelry:
fiber cuffs
using hand dyed yarn embellished with glass beads.

my painting today was inspired by the latest cuff:

esprit de corps:

            the yarn is so beautiful.
simple patterns show off an exquisite color palette.
            don’t miss the fabulous
            pewter buttons
            to
            embellish!

other parts, other places:

shadow lace

this foto reflects where I find inspiration:
interesting negative space,
the playful qualities of light and dark,
soft powder blue color.
the filigree of the table shadow is a delight.

leaf lace

here’s a painting where I’ve tried to create
the
expression
of
lace:
intertwined curvilinear whorls of
motion and color.
the feminine spiral.
taste the burst of cool peppermint.
can you hear the “snap!” of a raw stringbean?

new work to share: sterling silver earrings.

ribbon

needle

usually not an easy task.
the looking can be exciting…….or not.
but why do we want to?
aren’t those needles sharp?
or possibly it’s not about actually finding the needle
but the looking that is important?
the investment of time to opening wider to impossibility/possibility.
the sensation of searching for one’s wild fancy
and especially all that comes along the path to inspire us.
…….isn’t that the point?

green of summer

is the shortest distance between point “A” and point “B” a straight line?
along the path echos of old ways:
resound
reverberate
repeat
reflect
rebound

is it folly to think it might not ever be?
bonkers
daft
touched
foolish
inappropriate
or are we moonstruck?
…….ditto.

have you seen the beads?

whimsical

delicately balanced elements set in motion by even the softest breezes
reminding us of the dualities in life:
days of fixed calmness mingled with fluidity and change.

so reminiscent of sculptor Calder
