I thought today since we’ve been having
l
o
w
s
here in Vermont
in the high 30F to low 40F
(in the evening mind you)
these colorful arm warmers should see the light of day.
created them last winter
when I was contemplating
how many ways can I make a sweater
without
really
making
a
sweater.
needless to say I keep myself well entertained.
hey, what can I say:
winter is looong here.
they’ll be available soon for purchase here: gallery
which reminds me: I need to put images of the knit cuffs up as well.

truly inspiring: this HUGE luminous pink flower.
we’re talking over 8 inches in diameter!
just beautiful.

pattern #87 how to believe your intuition
crocheted and fulled
with hand dyed mohair locks needlefelted to the bag.

new work.
soon to be available.
done up in a favorite yarn: Kureyon by NORO.

I so appreciate the
playful
circular
coils
looping their way around this sculpture.
endeavor to find inspiration and enjoyment in the following works by
finnish/danish sculptor Lucien den Arend.
three views of a piece entitled “c.y.f.”
large identical stainless steel arcs
performing a rhythmic dance across small hills:

an environmental work of sculptor Lucien den Arend.
a planting of willows slowly making their interior inaccessible:

two views of another site specific sculpture.
again using pollard willows.
a farmhouse property transformed into a circular island.
breathtaking!

this foto reflects where I find inspiration:
interesting negative space,
the playful qualities of light and dark,
soft powder blue color.
the filigree of the table shadow is a delight.

here’s a painting where I’ve tried to create
the
expression
of
lace:
intertwined curvilinear whorls of
motion and color.
the feminine spiral.
taste the burst of cool peppermint.
can you hear the “snap!” of a raw stringbean?
new work to share: sterling silver earrings.

the idea of the photo as journal is remarkably revealing
…….if you take the time to listen to the image.
tho’ I go thru many of these as well: journal, and quickly.
photography as journal creates a delicious blur.
between
what one sees
and
what one thinks.
often times creating passionate feelings.
throw blogging into the mix and you have an opportunity
for a compelling vision.
here’s one such example: photographic journal.
the idea of self portraiture however,
can strike fear into the heart
or
embolden, energize and empower.
the following quote is by writer/painter John Ruskin:
the greatest thing a human soul
ever does in this world is to see
something…….to see clearly
is poetry, prophecy, and
spirituality, all in one.
of interest?
- Ruskin watercolor
- project gutenburg
other photo blogs:

wisdom?
easy as…….Zen.
(Hmmm…..)

usually not an easy task.
the looking can be exciting…….or not.
but why do we want to?
aren’t those needles sharp?
or possibly it’s not about actually finding the needle
but the looking that is important?
the investment of time to opening wider to impossibility/possibility.
the sensation of searching for one’s wild fancy
and especially all that comes along the path to inspire us.
…….isn’t that the point?
- stardust
- dust houses
- magnification
- keeping a level head
- directionally challenged?

does creativity require one to get comfortable with
not
knowing what we are doing?
is upredictability part of the “plan”?
is there the possibility to step jump!
out of our
customary
box
of
complacency
and view the world thru different/new eyes?
being open to the energy of change
it is
truly
the
only
constant.
